Formed in 1999 to provide a focus for voluntary activities for the conservation of the Estuary.
A wide range of recreational, educational and conservation activities are intended, often in conjunction with the Fowey Estuary Partnership and other conservation groups. We hope to achieve charitable status.

The Friends Object is for the benefit of the users of the estuary to maintain; repair and improve the Fowey estuary and its amenity area; to protect and preserve its countryside and wildlife; to support its amenity users and to advance the education of the resident and visiting public in relation to the estuary.
The ‘Friends’ are represented on the Advisory Group to the Fowey Estuary Management Plan.
